Our rich and diverse extracurricular activities (ECA) programme offers students a wide range of opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills and connect meaningfully with peers.
Largely led by our passionate and experienced DBIS teaching staff, the programme fosters strong relationships and extends learning beyond the classroom. Through their involvement, staff nurture student interests and model a love of lifelong learning.
Designed to be broad and inclusive, the ECA programme encourages curiosity, creativity and confidence – regardless of a student’s background or experience. Families are invited to browse the detailed descriptions on this website to find the opportunities that best suit their child.
Each term, the ECA offerings are influenced by staff and coach availability, seasonal weather conditions, and the schedules of relevant competitions.
EYFS and Primary ECAs include multi-sports, dance, music, language development and creative arts, encouraging young learners to build confidence and curiosity.
Secondary students have access to a broad selection, including competitive sports, Model United Nations, debate, robotics and leadership programmes. Unique offerings such as Strive Athlete Development, DJ Club, and the Award for Young People (AYP) further enrich the experience, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Most ECAs are free for students and are facilitated by DBIS faculty, but there are some which incur a charge to compensate external facilitators such as robotics or to purchase significant single-use materials for students; this may be the case for a range of specific art or craft ECAs and the cooking ECA, which requires the purchase of ingredients.
Our ambition is to work with trusted and reputable community partners to expand our ECA programme and opportunities for our students. If you are a vendor or parent interested in offering a paid ECA, or you are interested in exploring ways to work with the school and support the community, please complete this jotform, and we will be in touch shortly.
