DBIS offers a range of outdoor and adventure ECAs that leverage the school's unique location in Discovery Bay. These programmes are designed to provide students with hands-on experiences beyond the traditional classroom. Opportunities currently include gardening as well as the AYP programme, which offers a framework for personal challenge and skill development. Plans are underway to expand the number and variety of outdoor ECAs on offer to provide even more diverse and enriching experiences, further utilising the local environment for a wide variety of activities.
Eco Club
Exploring education for sustainability, the Eco-Green Club will motivate even our youngest students to develop a deep love of our Earth and a desire to care for it. Children will be empowered to create meaningful environmental activities and projects to help raise sustainability awareness throughout our school, within their families and in our wider DB community. They will also have the opportunity to nurture our new garden space on the EYFS campus.
DBIS Learner Profile Attributes: Committed Learner, Creative Thinker
This ECA empowers students to become Committed Learners by fostering a deep sense of responsibility and a long-term desire to care for our Earth through hands-on sustainability projects. Additionally, it cultivates Creative Thinkers as children design meaningful activities and nurture new garden spaces, challenging them to find innovative ways to raise environmental awareness within their school and local community.
