At DBIS, we believe that some of the most meaningful learning experiences happen beyond the four walls of a classroom. Each year, our Week Without Walls (WWW) programme takes students on an exciting journey of action, adventure and service – both in Hong Kong and across the globe.
From the breathtaking landscapes of India to the vibrant cultures of Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and mainland China, our students step outside their comfort zones and into real-world experiences that challenge and inspire them. Whether trekking through remote landscapes, working on community projects or engaging in outdoor adventures, every trip is designed to develop confidence, resilience and a global perspective.
Through this immersive programme, students cultivate essential life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and independence. They return with new friendships, fresh perspectives and unforgettable memories that shape their personal growth and broaden their understanding of the world.
WWW is more than just a trip – it’s a transformative experience that fosters curiosity, leadership and a lifelong passion for exploration.
In Years 7 to 9, students embark on whole-year expeditions, forging strong friendships while developing essential skills in leadership, teamwork, resilience and discovery.
As they progress to Years 10 to 13, students have the exciting opportunity to choose their own experiences, tailoring their journeys to their interests and aspirations.
Each trip is aligned with one or more WWW strands:
Culture & Creativity
Adventure & Exploration
Service & Sustainability
Over their time at DBIS, students are encouraged to engage with experiences across all strands, ensuring a well-rounded and transformative journey that shapes them into confident, compassionate and globally-minded individuals.
Immerse yourself in the world’s diverse cultures through history, art, music, language and local traditions, fostering global connections and creative expression.
Step beyond your comfort zone with thrilling outdoor experiences like trekking, water sports and wilderness challenges that build resilience and teamwork.
Make a meaningful impact through hands-on community projects and environmental initiatives, promoting social responsibility and sustainable solutions.
