Experiential learning is a cornerstone of the DBIS Secondary School student experience. Each year around November, students engage with ‘Week Without Walls (WWW),’ allowing students from all year groups to engage in experiences aligned with one or more strands: Culture and Creativity, Adventure and Exploration, and Service and Sustainability.
Throughout the academic year, students also have the opportunity to attend enriching day trips within Hong Kong, exploring museums, geographical sites and unique exhibitions that bridge classroom knowledge with real-world experiences aligned with the curriculum.
Students also have the opportunity to engage with a comprehensive extracurricular programme (ECAs) which further enhances students' learning and provides unique opportunities to develop key skills and interests, perform, lead, engage with the community and compete in local and international competitions.
The Secondary School has a robust sports programme that emphasises commitment, teamwork and resilience. Teams and individuals have the opportunity to compete in local competitions, such as those organised by the International Schools Sports Federation Hong Kong (ISSFHK), as well as in international events hosted by the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), providing talented athletes with opportunities to compete on a global stage.
